Play with purpose
In 2023, the team at Terra Play Center approached us with a clear and inspiring brief: to create an inclusive, sensory-rich play environment tailored to the needs of their diverse community in Orlando, Florida. With a deep commitment to accessibility and innovation, this project reflects the power of bespoke design to foster connection, exploration, and joy for children of all abilities.
A play space designed for every child
At the heart of the project was a focus on sensory play and inclusive access. Every element, from spatial layout to material selection, was thoughtfully curated to ensure seamless navigation and full participation for children with a wide range of physical and sensory needs. Particular attention was given to the accessibility of pathways and interactive zones, enabling easy, intuitive movement throughout the space.
Integrated sensory lighting
The custom-designed play structure features a rich variety of sensory experiences, including fibre optic chandeliers, infinity mirrors, an LED-lit tunnel, and an interactive sensory projector. These elements are carefully integrated into a beautifully constructed play frame, designed not only for physical exploration but also for aesthetic harmony within the broader environment.
A meaningful impact
Spanning 115 square metres, the new space caters to children aged 0–8 and has already proven to be a vibrant and valued destination for local families. The thoughtful, bespoke design ensures every child has the opportunity to engage, explore, and play in a safe and stimulating environment.
