Clara’s Corner was looking to create a soft play space for adults to explore alongside their children, with the café placed as a separate offering in a different building. The goal was to develop an immersive play environment that felt engaging, safe, fostered connection and aligned with the overall customer experience.

Wanting to cater to children that find soft play environments over stimulating, the founders James and Tor wanted to create a calm play environment with less noise. They operate at a reduced capacity, play calm background music and use soft lighting throughout the space.

THE CHALLENGE

As with many family-focused venues, the project needed to balance several factors:

• Making effective use of a fixed space

• Catering to different age groups

• Ensuring clear visibility and access for supervising adults

• Meeting safety standards without compromising on play value

There was also a need to ensure the final design would work practically day-to-day, not just visually.

WHAT WE DID

Tigerplay worked closely with the client from the outset to understand the space, customer profile, and operational requirements.

The process included:

• An initial consultation to define priorities and constraints

• A detailed site survey to assess layout and flow

• A fully bespoke design tailored to the space and Clara’s Corner brand

• Careful consideration of zoning to separate younger and older children

• Development of technical drawings to bring the concept to life

• Full manufacture and installation by the Tigerplay team

Every element was designed to maximise play value while maintaining clear sightlines and a safe environment.

THE OUTCOME

The result is a well-balanced, engaging soft play environment that:

• Makes efficient use of the available space

• Supports a range of age groups comfortably

• Allows for easy supervision and access by parents and staff

• Meets recognised safety standards

• Integrates seamlessly into the wider venue

The client was able to move forward with confidence, knowing the design had been carefully considered from both a creative and operational perspective.
